Abstract

The research question in the current article was about posing the problem of software maintenance project task assignment in a more complete formulation, compared with the models reported in the literature so far. For this aim, the proposed model comprises decision factors that were overlooked by the literature. A second contribution fold of this research was to implement the model using genetic algorithms (GA). Then, a validation test of the GA-based model was conducted to compare its performance with human managers’ one. Results obtained with the prototyped GA-based model outperformed the managers’ ones.
